Success for James Jones - Home and Away
Following on from a highly successful Ecobuild 2011 and steady growth throughout the first half of the year, James Jones & Sons Ltd Timber Systems Division have recently announced a number of positive business developments.
It has been a particularly exciting time for their manufacturing base in Forres, Scotland. Not only have the company completed the purchase of additional land for future expansion, but a steady increase in business has enabled them to re-employ six workers for their JJI-Joist Plant.
Brian Robertson, General Manager, says: “We are delighted with the positive developments around the Forres Factory recently and it really is great news that we have been able to re-employ several workers we had previously paid off when the recession hit.”
The company are also pleased to announce a new partnership with leading Belgian Timber Merchants, VC Wood, which will see its UK manufactured, FSC accredited JJI-Joist exported to mainland Europe for the first time. Already recognised as a leading structural element in the UK, the JJI-Joist will be sold initially in Belgium, Southern Holland & Northern France.
Mark Tilston, Business Development Manager for James Jones and Sons Ltd Timber Systems, said: “We’re delighted to have agreed this partnership with VC Wood, which will see our JJI-Joists exported into mainland Europe. It’s the next step for a product which has become a market leader in the UK and achieved genuine industry recognition.”
The product’s versatility and its impressive strength-to-weight ratio help form the structures of floors, walls, and roofs. It also contributes to the sustainability of a building as its use enables large volumes of insulation to be incorporated into the building envelope.
As well as supplying the product, VC Wood is also using the JJI-Joist in its up-coming PassivHaus project.
