James Jones & Sons Ltd, TSD, to launch a UK Market First at Ecobuild 2011

James Jones and Sons Ltd, Timber Systems Division, will make their third consecutive appearance at ecobuild in March. The UK’s sole producer of FSC certified I-Joists feel the country’s largest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment is a natural setting for the company and their highly acclaimed JJI-Joist™.

This year’s presence will see James Jones launch two new products; the Service Hole I-Joist (SHI) and the UK’s first and only fully home grown I-Stud solution. The SHI enables MVHR and other large services to be run through the I-Joist’s web. New building regulations suggest most future homes will contain a heat exchange unit, which require large duct holes to be incorporated into the floor scheme, often where only smaller holes are permitted. However the SHI solves this problem, providing extra reinforcement, allowing larger holes to be cut from the web. This development makes JJI-Joists™ a more attractive choice for specifiers of commercial buildings that have increased servicing requirements running throughout their structure.

Also being launched is the JJI-Stud using James Jones Scottish home grown timber and OSB particle board in the JJI-Stud flanges and web. It will be the UK’s first and only fully home grown I-Stud solution for the sustainable building professional.

As usual their stand, S1272, located below South Gallery Rooms 19-20, will give James Jones and Sons Ltd, Timber Systems Division, the opportunity to showcase their systems and products. Constructed using 3ply softwood Triboard panels, the ceiling will use the JJI-Joist™, and incorporate the new SHI product. This will demonstrate its capacity to run an MVHR system within/above the ceiling. It will also include an updated I-Stud wall display, detailing the new completely home grown JJI-Stud.
