Mr James Jones started trading in timber and allied products in the middle of the nineteenth century. Since being incorporated in 1905, James Jones & Sons Ltd have grown both organically and by acquisition.

In an increasingly demanding field our company continues to update and improve its sawmills and treatment plants. Our sawmills utilise some of the most modern wood processing techniques found today in Europe.

The Company

James Jones Sons Ltd is one of the largest suppliers of British Timber in the UK today. The sawmills are strategically placed to take advantage of the increasing supply of saw logs being produced from post war plantations. These are bought from both private and state owned forests as well as woodlands owned and managed by the company.

International Connections

As well as being one of the largest sawmilling and timber treatment companies in the UK, James Jones and Sons Ltd are a major shareholder in Stella-Jones Inc, one of Canada and the USAs largest wood preserving companies. The company specialise in the treatment of such things as transmission poles (telegraph poles) and railway sleepers.
